Austin Ekeler Injury Update
Ekeler dominated on Sunday, racking up 164 scrimmage yards and one touchdown, but it came at a cost. He's now dealing with an ankle injury heading into Week 2, and it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to practice on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status. Assuming he's back to 100 percent by Sunday, Ekeler is a high-end RB1 in fantasy football.
Aaron Jones Injury Update
Jones also suffered an injury amidst his fantastic performance on Sunday. The 28-year-old totaled 127 yards and two touchdowns before exiting due to a hamstring issue. According to Jones, the injury wasn't too severe and he could have returned if needed. "I didn’t really feel a pull," he told the media. "Just a little bite." It looks like he's trending towards playing in Week 2. If so, he'd be a low-end RB1.
Kenneth Gainwell Injury Update
Gainwell (ribs) went from fantasy afterthought to potential fantasy starter in a matter of hours on Sunday as Rashaad Penny (coach's decision) was made inactive and D'Andre Swift rushed just one time. However, Gainwell missed practice on Tuesday, leaving him very little time to get healthy before Thursday Night Football kicks off in Week 2.
J.K. Dobbins Injury Update
Dobbins (Achilles) will undergo season-ending surgery later this week. It's a crushing blow for the 24-year-old who has struggled to stay healthy and will ultimately miss 42 games due to injury from 2021 through 2023. Gus Edwards will operate as Baltimore's No. 1 running back while Justice Hill and Melvin Gordon also get involved.
Evan Hull Injury Update
Hull (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. The rookie registered just two touches in his NFL debut prior to exiting early. Deon Jackson and Jake Funk will round out the Colts' backfield until Zack Moss (arm) and Jonathan Taylor (ankle) are able to return.
