Jordan Lawlar Taking A Seat Tuesday Night
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks shortstop Jordan Lawlar is not in the club's starting lineup Tuesday night against the New York Mets and right-hander Jose Butto. The 21-year-old has gotten into four games since being promoted to the big leagues but is just 1-for-13 with an RBI, a stolen base, and a hit-by-pitch across 14 trips to the plate. That said, it's hard to argue Arizona's decision to promote their top prospect as Lawlar raked to the tune of a .358 average with five homers, three SB, and a 1.050 OPS across 16 games at Triple-A. He also hit 15 HR alongside 33 SB and an .840 OPS across 89 games at Double-A this season. Geraldo Perdomo will take over at shortstop and hit ninth Tuesday in New York.
