Corbin Burnes Throws Eight No-Hit Innings, Sprains Ankle
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (ankle) threw eight no-hit innings against the New York Yankees on Sunday, but he suffered a sprained ankle during the start. Burnes made a nice play to end the seventh inning but hurt his ankle in the process. He is expected to be fine for his next start, which should be next weekend against the Washington Nationals. Outside of the injury, things were superb for Burnes. He struck out seven while walking two, and looked like the dominant pitcher fantasy owners wanted him to be when they drafted him in the first two rounds in March. Things haven't gone totally according to plan, but Burnes has been more than serviceable and will likely be drafted as a top-15 pitcher again next year.
