ANALYSIS: Last year, Gerald Everett posted 58 receptions for 555 yards and four touchdowns en route to a TE16 season in half-PPR formats. He was a streaming consideration every week in the high-powered Los Angeles Chargers offense. In Week 1 of the 2023 season, he carries fantasy football intrigue once again.
The matchup with the Miami Dolphins has the highest projected point total (51.5) on the Week 1 slate, meaning all relevant pass-catchers on both teams are naturally on the fantasy football radar.
The Dolphins allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends last season (Yahoo), giving up double-digit points to Mark Andrews, Hayden Hurst, Pat Freiermuth, Cole Kmet, Jordan Akins, Dawson Knox, and Marcedes Lewis.
Everett is always risky because of the high-end target competition in the Chargers' pass-catching group, but in a week where a few stud tight ends are dealing with injuries, he has real upside as a late-swap streamer.
