ANALYSIS: Zack Moss (hand) is trending toward being inactive in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, meaning rookie running back Evan Hull enters the fantasy radar in deep leagues.
His workload is a mystery in his NFL debut, but he has a history of strong receiving production in his prospect profile and has the potential to slot in on third downs as Anthony Richardson's check down option in the two-minute drill and long down and distances.
However, Richardson is likely to tuck the football and run more often than take the short completion, especially early in his NFL career. That said, Hull is best suited as a desperation play in deep leagues and might not even be worth starting in Week 1. Still, he's an intriguing waiver wire pickup in case he exceeds expectations and plays a significant role to begin the season.
Deon Jackson is the Colts' running back to play this week if he's available and Hull is a last-second fill-in if fantasy managers are running out of options. Jonathan Taylor (ankle) will miss at least the first four games on injured reserve, so Moss, Jackson, and Hull could all be worth stashing for the first few weeks.
