Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has been out of practice or limited in practice for two weeks leading up to the start of the 2023 NFL season. While Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the veteran is dealing with a minor ailment, it looks like his chances to play could be heading in the wrong direction.
We have Andrews' latest injury update. If he's out, Isaiah Likely will enter the fantasy radar as a part of a high-end Ravens offensive attack.
Is Andrews out in Week 1? Should you pick up and start Likely against the Texans? Let's dive in.

Is Mark Andrews Playing Against the Texans In Week 1?
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Mark Andrews (quadriceps) isn't expected to play on Sunday against the Texans. The veteran has recently dealt with a quad injury, so Lamar Jackson won't have his No. 1 target to start the year. Of course, the question now is if Andrews will be healthy for the Week 2 AFC North meeting with the Bengals.
As far as Week 1 is concerned, Isaiah Likely will be elevated to the No. 1 tight end role. Wideouts Odell Beckham Jr., Zay Flowers, and Rashod Bateman could also be in line for more targets.
Should I Pickup and Start Isaiah Likely for Week 1?
Last season, the Texans were a middle-0f-the-pack team against fantasy tight ends. Houston was solid against all pass-catchers in fantasy football, mostly because they were losing most contests early and faced the sixth-fewest passing attempts in 2022.
Likely makes for an intriguing DFS play at his $3,000 main slate DraftKings price, but he's a shaky streaming option in season-long fantasy leagues. The Ravens are expected to be a pass-happier offense this year, but they might get out to an early lead on Houston and keep things on the ground.
In two games with Lamar Jackson and without Mark Andrews last year, likely posted a seven-reception, 77-yard, and one-touchdown game and a one-catch, 24-yard, one-touchdown game. That said, he does have touchdown upside and can be a viable deep league tight end streamer.
