1 year agoAlthough he shockingly failed to make the playoffs for the first time in his career, Chase Elliott still stands a strong chance to be the playoffs' biggest spoiler, especially given the speed Hendrick Motorsports typically has at Kansas. In addition to winning there in 2018, Hendrick drivers have led the most laps in four of the last five races there with Kyle Larson doing so three times and Alex Bowman doing so in this event last year. Elliott has been running better and also qualifying better than in recent weeks as his fourth-place starting position matches his best oval qualifying of the year. Even this year, Elliott ranks 7th in speed on flat intermediates, so given his relative uptick in performance the past few weeks, don't be surprised if he returns to victory lane at Kansas.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
