1 year agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez is out of Saturday's starting lineup versus the Chicago White Sox. The 30-year-old has seen quite a lot of the bench lately, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Baez is slashing .221/.267/.319 with eight home runs and 54 RBI in 123 games this season. The Tigers aren't in the playoff picture, so they might as well give younger players a chance to see what they can do. Zack Short will bat ninth and play shortstop versus right-hander Jose Urena on Saturday. Fantasy managers who are rostering Baez might want to look elsewhere for help. It doesn't seem like the Tigers are too interested in giving Baez everyday at-bats right now.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
