Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was banged up in practice leading up to the Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears, putting his availability for the season-opener in jeopardy.
Fellow wideout Romeo Doubs is also hurting, meaning rookie wideout Jayden Reed could be in line for a ton of targets in his NFL debut. Week 1 is here, and it's time to make key start-or-sit decisions at all positions.
Is Watson out in week 1? Should you pick up and start Reed against the Bears? Let's dive in.

Is Christian Watson Playing Against the Bears In Week 1?
Watson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears. He was unable to practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to the injury and evidently won't be healthy in time for kickoff on Sunday.
With Romeo Doubs (hamstring) questionable, we could see a heavy reliance on the running backs, followed by increased volume for Reed, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft.
Should I Pickup and Start Jayden Reed for Week 1?
Reed earned a starting nod this offseason after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. That said, he already had fantasy football value as the slot receiver to new franchise quarterback Jordan Love.
With Watson out, he will move up the Week 1 wide receiver rankings and become essentially a must-start in deep PPR leagues if Doubs is also out. In shallow leagues, it all depends on whether your fantasy team has plenty of wideout depth. If not, there's unlikely to be much better options than Reed on waivers this week.
The Bears allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to wide receivers last season, so the rookie from Michigan State will have the chance to introduce himself to the NFL world on Sunday.
