Jahmyr Gibbs Might Be Eased Into Action Thursday
1 year agoDetroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said he might ease rookie first-round running back Jahmyr Gibbs into action in the regular season opener on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Campbell told reporters that the team will want to be "smart" with Gibbs' usage in his first NFL game with an eye toward the full season. "We want to have enough in where we know he can help us win here," Campbell said. The 21-year-old has RB2 upside over the full season, but he could be a disappointment for fantasy managers hoping to see him produce meaningful numbers right off the bat. If the Lions ease Gibbs in, it will only mean more work for David Montgomery.
