DJ Stewart Dealing With Back Tightness
1 year agoNew York Mets outfielder DJ Stewart (back) sat out of Tuesday's game against the Washington Nationals due to lower-back tightness. Stewart's injury is considered minor, so fantasy managers should view him as day-to-day for now. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter has played well since the Mets brought him up in June, as he's currently hitting .265 (26-for-98) with 10 home runs, five doubles, 21 RBI and 13 runs scored in 39 games and 114 plate appearances. Stewart is just two homers shy of his career-high in home runs (12), which was set in 100 games with the Baltimore Orioles in 2021. With the Mets playing out the string down the stretch in 2023, Stewart should continue to see playing time against right-handed pitching once he's past his back issue.
