Carson Hocevar Finds Rare Speed for Legacy Motor Club at Darlington
1 year agoThe No. 42 Chevrolet from Legacy Motor Club has been one of the slowest cars on the race track all season no matter where the series is at. That's why it was a bit of a surprise when Carson Hocevar qualified in 15th-place with this car for Sunday evening's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. This is just the third top-15 qualifying effort of the season out of this No. 42 Chevrolet, with the others coming at COTA and Richmond with Noah Gragson behind the wheel. Hocevar was just 29th-fastest during practice at Darlington on Saturday, so it's unlikely he will be able to maintain that top-15 qualifying speed during the race itself, but he could end up challenging for a top-25 finish on Sunday evening if he keeps the car clean.
