According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Panthers and linebacker Brian Burns are "not at all close" on an extension. The 28-year-old finished the 2022-23 campaign by logging 12.5 sacks, increasing his total to 38 since being a first-round draft pick in 2019. Luckily, Burns is expected to suit up this season despite coming off ankle surgery while also remaining unhappy with his current contract situation.
