Anthony Volpe Cracks A Three-Run Homer In Yankees Loss
1 year agoOn Thursday, New York Yankees first year shortstop Anthony Volpe launched a three-run home run during the ninth inning, despite the Yankees losing 4-3 in extra innings to Detroit. At just 22 years old, he became the first rookie in New York's storied history and one of only 15 rookies in the entire history of baseball to achieve a remarkable 20-home run and 20-stolen base season. His game-tying three-run blast was off Tigers' right-handed closer Alex Lange with two outs.
