Greg Allen Signs Minor-League Deal With Brewers
Greg Allen to a minor-league deal on Thursday. He will report to Triple-A Nashville. The club also acquired outfielder Chris Roller from the Cleveland Guardians exchange for cash considerations. Allen became a free agent last week after being cut by the New York Yankees. The 30-year-old switch-hitter hit .217 (5-for-23) with a home run, one RBI and three stolen bases in his 22 games for the Yankees. He'll strictly serve as minor-league outfield depth for the first-place Brewers. In seven big-leagues seasons, Allen has slashed .231/.300/.340 with 11 home runs, 68 RBI and 48 stolen bases in 304 games played.

Greg Allen Begins Rehab Assignment
Greg Allen (hip) took live at-bats against lefty Nestor Cortes on July 9 at Yankee Stadium and began a minor-league rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on Friday. He was expected to miss six to eight weeks after suffering a right hip-flexor strain on June 2. Allen was placed on the 10-day injured list the following day on June 3. The 30-year-old may only need a couple of rehab games before being activated from the injured list, which means he could return as major-league outfield depth for the Yankees by next week. Allen carries very little fantasy appeal when he's healthy. He was hitting .214 (3-for-14) with a home run, triple, an RBI, one stolen base and five runs scored in 10 games at the time of his injury.

Greg Allen Lands On 10-Day Injured List
Greg Allen (hip) landed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. He's dealing with a right hip flexor strain, an injury he suffered during Friday's meeting with the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, Allen's absence isn't a significant loss for most fantasy managers, considering he's hitting .214 with five runs, three hits, and one home run in 10 games. He'll undergo further testing on Monday. But to fill the void, the Yankees recalled Oswaldo Cabrera from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Greg Allen Agrees With Red Sox On Minor-League Deal
Greg Allen on a minor-league deal on Wednesday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, according to a source. Allen didn't make his 2022 season debut until the second half of the season due to a hamstring, and he finished with a weak .186/.260/.271 slash line with only two home runs, eight RBI, 17 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 46 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 29-year-old switch-hitter will strictly provide Boston with outfield depth if he sticks around with the organization. Allen is a career .232/.299/.336 hitter with a .635 OPS and 10 home runs in six big-league seasons. His greatest asset is probably his speed, as he's swiped 45 bases in 282 games played.
