A cheeky writer would start out this article by asking, “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?” But Juliet isn't actually asking where Romeo is, or asking why he's Romeo. Don't get me started on Shakespearean language.
Instead, I'm asking the question, "Why art thou hurt Romeo?" (I probably didn't even do that right). Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs is sitting out of practices, making one of the most talked about late-round wide receivers a question mark to start the regular season.
What would an injury to Doubs mean for the Green Bay passing attack? Who would step up in his place if he sits out Week 1? These are all valid concerns that will be covered in this article.

Romeo Doubs Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Doubs has been held out with a hamstring issue since before the team's preseason finale. But the team is staying tight-lipped about the injury.
The sophomore wide receiver echoed coach Matt LaFleur, saying "Everything’s fine. I’ll leave those answers up to coach, however, just taking everything day by day." Hamstring injuries can be tricky to recover from, especially for running backs and wide receivers. This is a situation to watch as the Packers begin practice next week in preparation for their Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
If Doubs is unable to go, rookie receiver Jayden Reed and tight end Luke Musgrave will benefit from an increase in target share. Running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon will also receive extra looks out of the backfield.
Romeo Doubs 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Both Doubs and Christian Watson entered their rookie seasons with unfair expectations placed upon them. With Davante Adams catching passes in Las Vegas and Allen Lazard hampered by an early-season injury, the rookies were thrown into the fire.
Because of this, the results were inconsistent. Doubs started the season with a couple of fantasy-relevant performances, and Watson came on later in the year. The ex-Nevada receiver finished 2022 with 42 catches for 425 yards and three touchdowns.
Now, it's the sophomore show. Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Robert Tonyan are all putting on new uniforms in 2023. That's half of Green Bay's six leading receivers now gone and 258 total vacated targets up for grabs.
While Watson is the projected leader in yards and touchdowns on Green Bay, some analysts like Doubs to end the season with the most receptions (barring injury). The former fourth-round pick has shown he's more than a possession receiver, too.
If you're buying into quarterback Jordan Love filling in admirably for the outbound Aaron Rodgers, Doubs is a fantastic target once you reach the double-digit rounds of your fantasy football draft.
