Brennen Davis Homers For First Time Since May
1 year agoChicago Cubs prospect Brennen Davis homered for the first time in nearly four months on Tuesday. This was Davis' fourth rehab appearance with High-A South Bend following a core muscle surgery in June. Several injuries have hindered his development, and Davis has dropped remarkably in Chicago's prospect hierarchy. The 23-year-old ranks as the No. 19 farmhand in the Cubs' system after being regarded as a top-15 prospect in all of baseball in 2022, per MLB Pipeline. Davis' power-hitting upside is his most noteworthy attribute, though it has come at the expense of his ability to hit for average. He certainly won't be making an MLB appearance any time soon. Still, Davis is an interesting name to track if he can stay healthy and rediscover his groove at the plate.
