Ty France Back In Wednesday's Lineup
1 year agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Ty France (wrist) is starting at first base and is batting fifth in the lineup on Wednesday against the visiting Oakland Athletics and right-hander Zach Neal. France was removed from Tuesday's contest against Oakland early in the game as a precaution after he was hit on his left wrist during a pickoff attempt. The injury never looked too serious, and the 29-year-old won't have to miss any additional time. He hasn't been nearly as good as he was in 2022 in his only All-Star season, but he's batting a strong .281 (25-for-89) with three home runs, six doubles, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored in 26 games (25 starts) in the month of August. France has gone 10-for-35 (.286) with two doubles and an RBI in 10 starts since Aug. 19.
