Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. has had an up-and-down career through his first four NFL seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers. The LSU product boomed in 2019 but has been mostly quiet since then. Still, his game-breaking speed and big-play ability keep him on the fantasy football radar.
However, Chark is dealing with yet another injury as Week 1 of the 2023 regular season approaches.
Will Chark be ready to play in Week 1? What is his outlook against the Falcons if he can suit up? Let's dive in.

DJ Chark Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Chark (hamstring) said his hamstring is feeling good and he's optimistic about his chances of playing in Week 1 of the regular season against the Falcons. Chark missed the last two weeks of the preseason but was able to do some rehab work at practice on Tuesday.
There's a chance that the 26-year-old may not be ready for the start of the 2023 regular season, which would open up more work for Adam Thielen, Terrace Marshall Jr. (back), rookie Jonathan Mingo, and Laviska Shenault Jr. (concussion). Chark has had issues with injuries in his career, but when healthy, he could be a nice deep threat for rookie quarterback Bryce Young in 2023 in his first year in Carolina.
DJ Chark Week 1 Fantasy Outlook
Cark is always going to be a better best ball format option thanks to his boom-or-bust skill set. For Week 1, he's a risky play given it will be Bryce Young's first professional start. Expect the Panthers to lean on the run as they ease Young into action and the flow of the game.
Adam Thielen could be viable in PPR formats, but the ceilings of all the Panthers wideouts should be considered limited.
The Carolina passing offense could heat up as the season rolls along, but even against the Falcons defense that was poor against fantasy wideouts last season -- it's a tough spot for fantasy football production.
