Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker had a spectacular rookie season as he stepped in for an injured Dustin Hopkins for much of the 2022 campaign.

The two kickers have battled this offseason for a valuable job on a team with one of the NFL's best offenses. Naturally, the winner of the job will be firmly on the fantasy radar.

How Did Cameron Dicker Perform in 2022?

Dicker impressed as a rookie for the Chargers, making 19 of his 20 field goal attempts and all 22 of his extra points in 10 games for the organization.

That kind of accuracy from a kicker is rare and valuable in today's NFL, and a rookie posting a season like that is almost unheard of.

Cameron Dicker Fantasy Football Outlook

Dicker won the position battle against Hopkins to be the team's placekicker this season. Hopkins was immediately traded to the Cleveland Browns for a 2025 seventh-round pick.

Last season, Dicker finished the year with 8.5 fantasy points per game, good for 12th among kickers with at least five games played. The Chargers' high-powered offense should yield plenty of scoring opportunities for Dicker, so a top-12 positional finish is well within his range of outcomes once again. Ultimately, he could even contend to be a top-five kicker considering his accuracy last season and the explosiveness of L.A.'s offense.

All that said, Chargers ' head coach Brandon Staley often opts to try to move the chains on fourth down rather than kick a field goal, so he could have plenty of down weeks over the course of the 2023 season.
