1 year agoThe New York Jets released veteran wide receiver Alex Erickson on Monday, according to a source. Erickson was a preseason standout, catching two touchdown passes in Saturday's finale, so he could be a candidate to rejoin the team's practice squad entering the 2023 regular season. If the 30-year-old doesn't return to the Jets' practice squad, he figures to get a shot with another team as receiver depth. He spent the 2022 campaign with the Washington Commanders, but he only saw time on special teams as a kick returner and wasn't targeted on offense. Since entering the league in 2016 as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals, Erickson has 96 receptions for 1,141 yards and only one touchdown on 152 targets in 99 games (14 starts) for the Bengals, and Carolina Panthers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
