Chris Paddack Building Up His Arm
1 year agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Chris Paddack (elbow) threw two innings of live batting practice in Florida last week and will ramp up to three innings this week. Paddack is attempting to return after his second Tommy John procedure, but it remains to be seen what his next step will be if he has a successful simulated game this week. The 27-year-old could soon embark on a minor-league rehab assignment soon, although it would probably be a surprise to see him return to the big leagues to close out the 2023 season. He made just five starts for the Twins last year before going under the knife. In his final campaign with the San Diego Padres in 2021, Paddack had a 5.07 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 99 strikeouts in 108 1/3 innings over 23 outings (22 starts).
