Harrison Burton Qualifies Career-Best Third
1 year agoFord had a strong showing on Friday evening during qualifying for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona this weekend, and it was Harrison Burton who posted the third-fastest lap during the second round. He will now start from the second row for Saturday night's season-finale race, the best starting position he's ever had in a Cup Series race. Now the question is, what can he do with that? Burton has just two finishes better than 20th in 11 career superspeedway track starts in the Cup Series -- a 19th-place finish here at Daytona last season along with a 10th-place finish at Atlanta last year. However, track history doesn't matter at Daytona, and Burton knows that. He recently stated, "Daytona is obviously one anyone can win. We've obviously seen crazy Daytona 500s, yes, and then the last race trying to get in. It's always chaos. So, trying to navigate that and understand that there are going to be a lot of other guys in the same boat. I see it as a legit, feasible chance [to win]. If I didn't, I probably wouldn't even show up." With that being said, Burton should be avoided in DFS contests on Saturday night, as his high starting position really limits his fantasy point upside.
