Riley Herbst Qualifies Career-Best Sixth For Daytona
1 year agoRiley Herbst will be making his third-ever NASCAR Cup Series start on Saturday night in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. He will be driving the No. 36 Ford for Front Row Motorsports with Monster Energy Zero Sugar as the primary sponsor. During qualifying on Friday evening, Herbst was able to make it into the second round and ended up posting the 6th-fastest lap time, which means he will start from the third row when the race goes green on Saturday night. While this high starting position definitely limits Herbst's DFS playability, he may be able to sneak out a good finish. He came home in 10th-place in the season-opening Daytona 500 and finished in 20th-place at Talladega earlier this year. He was in Rick Ware Racing equipment for both of those races, which is a downgrade from his Front Row Motorsports equipment this weekend.
