Trey Sermon Scores For The Third Week In A Row
1 year agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Trey Sermon took 16 carries for 30 yards and a touchdown while adding four receptions on six targets for an additional 24 yards during the team's 27-13 preseason loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The 24-year-old and Kennedy Brooks were the only running backs to log a carry Thursday night. Sermon didn't have a great outing. He was met at the line of scrimmage multiple times as the Eagles offensive line struggled to fend off the Indianapolis defenders, but he did find the end zone for the third week in a row. Fighting with Boston Scott for a roster spot, Sermon has put together a solid preseason backed by strong performances inside the red zone. If cut, Philadelphia will do all they can to stash the former 49er on their practice squad, but it would not be shocking to see a team scoop him up off of waivers.
