Vancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson is fully focused on preparing for the new NHL campaign and isn't discussing a contract extension with the team at present. "I've just put that on hold," Pettersson told NHL.com. "I still have one more year left. I've been wanting to focus on training this summer and the contract will sort itself out." The talented centerman added that one of the reasons why he's currently holding off the discussions is because he doesn't know how long he wants the new contract to be. Pettersson will enter the final year of a $22.05 million, three-year deal signed in 2021. He can become a restricted free agent at the end of 2023-24. Through 325 games with the Canucks, Pettersson has notched 323 points (136 goals, 187 assists), and he will look to produce a second consecutive 100-point campaign when the action restarts in October.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
