Khalil Herbert Still The Lead Back In Chicago
1 year agoChicago Bears running backs coach David Walker reiterated on Wednesday that running back Khalil Herbert is still the team's lead back in a committee approach in the backfield. "Khalil hasn't done anything to lose the job and then D'Onta Foreman and Travis Homer, you know, Trestan Ebner's been out a little bit, and Roschon Johnson has done a nice job competing," Walker said. Committee approaches often scare fantasy managers away, and for good reason, but if you're targeting an RB in fantasy as an RB3/flex in Chicago, it should be Herbert. Johnson and Foreman will steal away valuable touches in the backfield, but the 25-year-old Herbert had 5.7 yards per carry on his 129 rushing attempts in 13 games (one start) in his second NFL season in 2022.
