The 2023 regular season season is almost here. That means fantasy players have only a few weeks to complete all of their fantasy football drafts.
One of the toughest decisions fantasy players have to make every year is deciding between two similar options. Since fantasy players can’t possibly draft both guys, they must make the hard decision on which player to pick.
Today we look at whether fantasy players should draft Justin Fields or Justin Herbert.

Should I Draft Justin Fields?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Fields is a fourth-round pick in 12-team leagues and the seventh quarterback off the board. Last year the former Ohio State star was outstanding for fantasy players. He was the QB6, averaging 19.7 fantasy points per game.
Furthermore, Fields had 2,242 passing yards and 17 touchdowns. However, his fantasy value came from his rushing ability, totaling 160 rushing attempts for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns. The former Ohio State star finished 12th in the NFL in rushing touchdowns, including second among quarterbacks behind Jalen Hurts.
More importantly, the young quarterback is prime for a third-year breakout season. The Chicago Bears improved his weapons in the offseason, adding DJ Moore and Robert Tonyan. Fields was outstanding in the team’s first preseason game, throwing two touchdown passes.
Should I Draft Justin Herbert?
According to the RotoBaller ADP, Herbert is a fourth-round pick in 12-team leagues and the sixth quarterback off the board. Last year the superstar struggled with injuries. While he didn’t miss any time, the former Oregon star was the QB11, averaging 16.5 fantasy points per game. By comparison, Herbert was the QB2 in 2021, averaging 22.4 fantasy points per contest.
More importantly, the superstar is healthy and has looked like his old self in training camp. Herbert has been outstanding, repeatedly connecting with Keenan Allen.
The former Oregon star also has the best set of weapons in his career. The Los Angeles Chargers added Quentin Johnston during the NFL Draft to pair with Mike Williams and Allen at wide receiver.
Who Should I Draft?
Fantasy players can’t go wrong with either quarterback. Both players can end the 2023 season as the overall QB1. However, Fields has a slight edge over Herbert.
Last year many claimed the former Ohio State star was one of the worst passers in the NFL. However, Fields finished eighth in air yards per attempt (8.9), seventh in red zone completion percentage (62.2%), fourth in red zone accuracy rating (7.4), and 16th in deep ball accuracy rating (5.9). Those numbers should only improve this season.
