After failing to secure a new contract from the Las Vegas Raiders, star running back Josh Jacobs missed the entire training camp and hasn't played in the preseason either. Jacobs, who is coming off a monster season, was a prime candidate to get drafted early by fantasy managers, but his situation with the Raiders was quite worrying.
Many believed that the running back could end up sitting out the entire season, but as per recent reports, that will not be the case. Jacobs is expected to end his holdout with the team soon and return to the team next week.
Unlike Jonathan Taylor, it is highly unlikely that the Alabama product will get traded by the Raiders. As a result, all eyes will be on him once again, as he will try to put together another great season to deservedly get paid next offseason.

Will Josh Jacobs Play In Week 1?
Since he is expected to be back with the team next week, Josh Jacobs is in line to play in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. It is great news for all the fantasy managers who were looking to get him for their teams, and with this news, his current ADP (23rd overall) is likely to improve as well.
Jacobs is coming off a season where he had 340 carries for 1,653 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in 17 games. In year two under head coach Josh McDaniels, the offense is likely to get even better, and it won't be a surprise if their star running back ends up having another great season despite all the drama in the offseason.
The Raiders Offense Can Be Lethal This Season
The Raiders parted ways with quarterback Derek Carr in the offseason and signed Jimmy Garoppolo. The former 49ers QB has experience playing under Josh McDaniels, and it is expected that the Raiders' offense will be better with Garoppolo than it was with Carr.
Garoppolo has solid players surrounding him like Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams, and Hunter Renfrow, and it will be quite fascinating to see how things pan out for them. Even rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell has impressed everyone in the preseason, and if Garoppolo gets hurt or doesn't play well, he could be taking snaps this upcoming season.
Jacobs will be an unrestricted free agent next season, and another contract saga is almost certain to ensue after the season concludes.
