1 year agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. (back) is playing first base and batting leadoff on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Aaron Nola. Wade was held out of the series finale against the Atlanta Braves with a back injury, but it wasn't serious and he'll be back in there to begin the week. The 29-year-old left-handed batter is hitting 1.000 in two career at-bats against Nola with two RBI. He has been San Francisco's primary starting first baseman this year against right-handers and is batting .259/.385/.414 with 12 home runs, 14 doubles, a triple, 34 RBI and 50 runs scored in 411 trips to the plate over 107 games.
