Is De'Von Achane Injured Or Healthy?
Achane is a popular sleeper candidate this offseason. The Dolphins re-signed Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. in free agency. However, both veterans have struggled with injuries in their careers.
Unfortunately, the explosive rookie running back suffered a shoulder injury in Saturday’s Week 2 preseason matchup against the Houston Texans. Achane came off the field in pain after getting tackled. He then got transported to the locker room by the cart.
However, head coach Mike McDaniel says the former Texas A&M star running back avoided a severe injury. Achane is week-to-week and could return in time for the Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Should I Draft De’Von Achane At His ADP?
The rookie running back has been a popular sleeper candidate since Miami drafted him in April. According to the RotoBaller ADP, Achane is a 10th-round pick in 12-team leagues and is the 41st running back off the board.
Unfortunately, his shoulder injury will impact his fantasy value this season. Even if Achane suits up in Week 1, he likely won’t be 100% healthy for the first few weeks of the year. Furthermore, the rookie now has an uphill fight to earn the starting role because of the injury.
However, the former Texas A&M star has been outstanding during the preseason. Despite the injury, fantasy players should feel comfortable drafting the rookie running back at his current ADP.
