1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals prospect Drew Rom is being called up by the St. Louis Cardinals to start Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates according to manager Oliver Marmol. The main return of the Cards' deal with the Orioles for Jack Flaherty, Rom has thrown to a mediocre 4.82 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with a 118:50 K:BB ratio over 97 IP in Triple-A this year. To be effective in the majors, the 23-year-old will need to show much-improved control. For now, he can be left on the waiver wire, but keep an eye on his starts.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
