Andrew Vaughn Records Three Hits Against Rockies
2 years agoChicago White Sox designated hitter Andrew Vaughn went 3-for-5 hitting a solo home run as the White Sox were victorious against the Rockies in Denver on Sunday. Vaughn made his mark early in the game, initiating the scoring with a 404-foot solo home run off Chris Flexen in the second frame. Later in the contest, he singled and crossed the plate during White Sox's seven-run surge in the eighth inning. The 25-year-old power hitter is now batting .253/.317/.430. During this year's campaign, he's cracked 16 home runs and logged 63 RBI in 430 at-bats.

Andrew Vaughn Back In The Lineup
8 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn (illness) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. The 26-year-old was scratched ahead of Saturday's game due to an illness. Luckily it was a minor issue as Vaughn will play first base and bat cleanup against righty Simeon Woods Richardson. Fantasy managers who have Vaughn rostered can get him back in the lineup ahead of first pitch.

Andrew Vaughn Getting A Breather On Thursday
9 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn isn't in the team's starting lineup on Thursday against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians. Gavin Sheets will get the nod at first base and will bat cleanup for the Pale Hose versus Guardians right-hander Ben Lively. Vaughn has been a below-average hitter for fantasy managers in his fourth year in the big leagues. He's batting .244 (75-for-308) with a career-low .696 OPS, 11 home runs, 41 RBI and 32 runs scored in 81 games played for the worst team in baseball. On the bright side, he's currently in the midst of a six-game hitting streak where he's gone 8-for-21 (.381) with two homers, two doubles and six RBI. Sheets is mostly useful for his power and is hitting .241 (52-for-216) with six of his seven homers coming off right-handers in 2024.

Andrew Vaughn Stays Hot With Another Homer
10 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI in Thursday's victory versus the Seattle Mariners. The homer was his second in three games for the first baseman that has been swinging a hot bat of late. Vaughn was pretty much invisible for much of the season, but he has been on fire of late with 15 hits over his last 41 at-bats to go along with four homers and six RBI. On the season, Vaughn is now hitting .227 with eight homers and 25 RBI. Vaughn makes for a fine add for managers looking for a hot bat to insert into their lineup, but long-term, Vaughn doesn't hold much value.

Andrew Vaughn Returns Against Cubs
10 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn (finger) is back at first base and is hitting second for the team on Tuesday at Wrigley Field against left-hander Shota Imanaga and the Chicago Cubs. A sprained left ring finger caused Vaughn to miss all three games last weekend for the White Sox, but he's healed up now and ready to give it a go after having an extra day off on Monday. The 26-year-old hasn't really been useful to fantasy managers in mixed leagues in 2024, as he's currently hitting just .199/.264/.313 with four home runs, 11 doubles, 19 RBI, one stolen base, 14 runs scored, 15 walks and 53 strikeouts in 220 trips to the plate over 54 games in his fourth major-league season. In a poor White Sox's lineup, there's little to get excited over about Vaughn the way he's been swinging the bat.
