Ryan Jeffers Back Behind The Plate Sunday
1 year agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (back) has returned to catching duties on Sunday against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates and left-hander Ryan Borucki, and he is batting seventh in the lineup. Back soreness kept Jeffers out of action in the team's last two games, but he'll be back in there on Sunday for the series finale against Pittsburgh. The 26-year-old backstop has been hot for the Twins and fantasy managers in two-catcher leagues so far this month, going 11-for-40 (.275) with four home runs, three doubles, nine RBI and six runs scored in 11 starts for Minnesota. On the season, Jeffers has hit .280 (56-for-200) with nine long balls, 25 RBI, three stolen bases and 30 runs scored in 237 plate appearances and 71 games in his fourth season with the Twins.
