Mike Tauchman Sitting Against Left-Hander
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Mike Tauchman will take a seat on Friday with the team facing left-hander Cole Ragans and the visiting Kansas City Royals. Tauchman continues to sit against most left-handed pitchers this year and is hitting .263 (10-for-38) with only one of his seven home runs against them in 2023. Overall, though, the 32-year-old veteran has been a very valuable part-time outfield bat for the Cubbies, slashing .272/.372/.421 with seven home runs, 42 RBI, five stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 70 games in his first year in Chicago. Tauchman has been even better since the All-Star break, going 29-for-90 (.322) with four home runs, eight doubles, 21 RBI, two stolen bases and 20 runs scored in 28 games (19 starts).
