Cal Quantrill To Make Another Rehab Start Sunday
1 year agoThe next step for Cleveland Guardians right-hander Cal Quantrill (shoulder) will be a minor-league rehab start on Sunday for either Double-A Akron or Triple-A Columbus. Quantrill, who has been out since July 6 with right-shoulder soreness, is expected to throw around 85 pitches on Sunday in what will be his third rehab start. In his two rehab starts so far, he's allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits while walking three and striking out five in five innings. Quantrill could be cleared to rejoin Cleveland's starting rotation if everything goes well on Sunday. He'll be returning to a 2-6 record, rough 6.45 ERA (4.89 FIP), 1.57 WHIP, 22 walks and 38 strikeouts in 67 innings of work over his 13 starts for the Guardians this year.
