Fantasy Baseball Impact Of The Los Angeles Dodgers Placing Joe Kelly On The Injured List

The Los Angeles Angels placed relief pitcher Joe Kelly on the injured list on Sunday afternoon due to forearm inflammation, according to a tweet from the club’s official Twitter account:

Kelly has logged 32.2 innings split between the Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox, pitching to a 4.41 ERA and a 3.09 FIP. He’s also added 48 strikeouts, 15 walks, a pair of pitcher wins, and a save.

The veteran hurler has yet to allow a run in 3 2/3 innings spanning four appearances with the National League West club after joining the team in a July 28 trade from the White Sox. Kelly previously pitched for the Dodgers from 2019 through the 2021 campaign. He’s logged a hold (as well as seven strikeouts compared to three walks) in his four appearances with Los Angeles.

Caleb Ferguson and Brusdar Graterol should both continue to get hold opportunities late in games for the Dodgers ahead of closer Evan Phillips, though fellow relievers Ryan Brasier, Alex Vesia, and Victor Gonzalez are also names to keep an eye on for fantasy managers in leagues where holds are part of the scoring format.
