Charlie Blackmon Activated And Starting Monday
1 year agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon (hand) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Monday and he's immediately in the starting lineup, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff against Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Merrill Kelly. Blackmon is returning after a two-month stint on the injured list due to a fractured right hand, but he'll return and play regularly for the Rockies, at least when the team is facing a right-handed arm. The 37-year-old veteran is no longer at his peak and has offered fantasy managers very little in the counting-stat department. His .347 on-base percentage is nice, but he's hitting .265 (56-for-211) with only five home runs, no steals, 26 RBI and 34 runs scored in 56 games in his 13th year in Colorado.
