Sam Howell Leads Offense Early In Preseason Win
1 year agoWashington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell completed nine-of-12 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown along with one rush for eight yards in Friday's preseason win over the Cleveland Browns. The second-year pro got the nod to lead the first-team offense in Washington's first action of the preseason. After a couple of tough drives to start the game, Howell managed to get the offense rolling. Early in the second quarter, the former Tar Heel threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jahan Dotson for the Commanders' first score of the game. Howell was subbed out on the next drive, but his performance should spark some excitement for the upcoming season.
