Veteran free agent running back Kareem Hunt was the 86th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft. The veteran had an outstanding college career, totaling 782 rushing attempts for 4,945 yards and 44 touchdowns at Toledo. He also had 73 receptions for 555 receiving yards and a touchdown in his college career.
More importantly, the veteran was a star when he joined the NFL. Hunt had 272 rushing attempts for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the league in rushing yards as a rookie. Unfortunately, things went south for the former Toledo star.
The Chiefs released Hunt during the 2018 season following a video showing the running back attacking a woman in a hotel. He served an eight-game suspension the following season with the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, the veteran played a critical role for the Browns over the past several years.

Is Kareem Hunt A Good Fit For The Vikings?
After four years with the team, Cleveland let Hunt walk in free agency. The former Toledo star has been unsigned since his previous contract ended in March and hasn’t received much public interest until lately.
The veteran running back has visited with the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts over the past week. Furthermore, Hunt is visiting the Minnesota Vikings today.
However, the move doesn’t make much sense on paper. The Vikings released Dalvin Cook earlier this offseason and named Alexander Mattison the new starter. Meanwhile, Ty Chandler was impressive in the team’s first preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Hunt wouldn’t supplant Mattison as the starting running back. However, he would likely have the No. 2 role on the depth chart. Furthermore, the former Toledo star could cut into Mattison’s workload, especially in the passing game.
