One of the most dominant fantasy football wide receivers of this era, Davante Adams, is entering a second consecutive season with question marks about his supporting cast. Longtime Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is now in New Orleans, meaning it's Jimmy Garoppolo's turn to connect with Adams on his patented slant routes.
That's caused some fantasy experts to be wary of spending a top pick on the six-time Pro Bowl receiver in 2023, despite him scoring at least 329 PPR fantasy points in four of the last five seasons. He also led the league in target share in 2022. Since August 1, Adams is the ninth WR being drafted, according to NFC ADP.
Would an injury, coupled with quarterback concerns, cause Adams to slip further down the draft boards?

Davante Adams Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Adams left Friday's practice after taking a big hit and suffering a lower leg injury. He was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power. Coach Josh McDaniels doesn't seem overly concerned about the health of his star wide receiver moving forward.
Davante Adams 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Let's go back in time to 2017. Aaron Rodgers suffers a fractured collarbone, leaving Brett Hundley to start nine games for the Green Bay Packers. In the seven full games Hundley and Adams played together, the wideout snagged 41 catches for 489 yards and four touchdowns. That's nearly six catches and 70 yards per game. I think we all can agree that Garoppolo is an upgrade over Hundley.
In Week 17 of 2022, Adams put together a stat line of seven catches, 153 yards, and two TDs with Jarrett Stidham under center. He will continue to get open and produce as a WR1, regardless of who is taking snaps at quarterback. Select the former Packer at the beginning to middle of Round 2 in 10 or 12-team leagues. In larger leagues, Adams is worthy of a selection at the end of the first round.
