Top Fantasy Baseball Pitching Prospect Stashes

Taj Bradley - Tampa Bay Rays

Like the recent situation with Eury Perez, Taj Bradley's demotion was purely strategic. He has kept fresh in Durham, recently spinning five-and-two-thirds scoreless innings while striking out eight.

With a 3.53 SIERA and a 30% strikeout rate, Bradley was one of the best pure pitchers in the league this season. He is poised to be a big part of Tampa's late-season push and should be your preferred pitching stash.

Gavin Stone - Los Angeles Dodgers

Gavin Stone has had an incredibly disappointing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Through four appearances, Stone held a 12.75 ERA, 5.01 FIP, 11.3% strikeout rate, and 11.3% walk rate.

While he's seen his fair share of struggles at the Triple-A level (5.36 ERA through 17 starts), he's rounded back to form lately. In his last five starts, he has a 2.67 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 29.5% strikeout rate, and 6.7% walk rate.

With starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin at a terrible 4.98 SIERA and 18.9% strikeout rate, the Dodgers should give Stone another shot at the majors before the season's end.

Kyle Harrison - San Francisco Giants

From recent comments by Giants GM Farhan Zaidi, it's all but certain that top pitching prospect Kyle Harrison will make his MLB debut later this season.

Harrison has had a rough season, with a 4.32 ERA, 5.33 FIP, and 17.3% walk rate through 19 starts with Triple-A Sacramento. Rarely does a pitcher with a 17.3% walk rate generate this much excitement, but the 21-year-old's stuff is electric. His elite three-pitch arsenal (70-grade fastball, plus slider and changeup) has produced an absurd career 37.3% strikeout rate, with a 35.4% strikeout rate this season.

Poor command can be especially debilitating at the major-league level, but Harrison is worth stashing for his strikeout ceiling alone.

Randy Vasquez - New York Yankees

The New York Yankees are in dire need of back-end rotation help. When they've had holes in their pitching staff this season, the Yankees have looked to Randy Vasquez and Jhony Brito. With Brito recently optioned, Vasquez should be the next man up.

He's been impressive in three different spot starts this season, with a 1.17 ERA, a .164 opponent batting average, and a 1.04 WHIP. While his poor 15.4% walk rate and 4.76 FIP tempers expectations, he has flashed impressive stuff in the last month at the Triple-A level. In his last three starts, Vasquez holds a 2.90 FIP, 38.6% strikeout rate, and 10.5% walk rate.

If he returns, he likely won't maintain that 1.17 ERA, but he'll be one of the better prospect pitchers ROS.

Mike Vasil - New York Mets

The New York Mets rotation looks barren after dealing away Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. They'll look to inject new blood, with pitching prospect Mike Vasil emerging as a September call-up.

Vasil's 5.59 ERA through nine Triple-A starts isn't encouraging. But in his latest start, Vasil spun eight one-hit innings, walking two batters and striking out seven.

Vasil should be able to pick up starts at the major-league level to close the season, making him a solid stash in deeper leagues.
