Houston Texans fullback Andrew Beck (knee) suffered a minor knee injury in the team's preseason opener on Thursday night against the New England Patriots. Beck was seen limping after the contest, but he was able to jog on the sideline immediately after getting hurt. "Beck will be fine," head coach DeMeco Ryans said. "He banged his knee up a little bit, but we'll get further tests. As of right now, looks like he'll be fine." A league source noted that Beck may not even need to undergo an MRI exam. The 27-year-old is expected to have a versatile, hybrid role in offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik's offense this year after signing a two-year, $6.75 million contract in the offseason. The Houston Texans placed fullback Andrew Beck (calf), cornerback D'Angelo Ross (undisclosed) and linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips (shoulder) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Wednesday, meaning they will not be ready to take part in the start of training camp next week. Beck strained his calf earlier this offseason and now won't be able to take part in practices to kick off the summer, but it doesn't necessarily mean he won't be ready for Week 1 of the regular season this fall. With Beck sidelined for the start of camp, Troy Hairston will get more repetitions as the club's fullback. The 28-year-old Beck played in 15 games (12 starts) in his first year with the Texans in 2023 and had 11 receptions for 55 yards and two touchdowns while adding five rushing attempts for three yards and another TD. He is not on the fantasy radar.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Denver Broncos tight end Albert Okwuegbunam was out-gained through the air by fellow tight end/fullback Andrew Beck in the Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Beck caught two of his three targets for 52 yards on the Broncos first drive of the night and wasn't heard from again. Okwuegbunam ended up catching five passes -- one more than each of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton -- for only 33 yards on six targets. The 24-year-old tight end was the fourth option for quarterback Russell Wilson in the passing game, so he'll continue to be a TE2 streamer, at best, for fantasy managers. Tight end Eric Saubert also had one target in the end zone for the Broncos.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Denver Broncos gave restricted free-agent fullback/tight end Andrew Beck an undisclosed one-year deal on Sunday, according to his agent. Denver envisions Beck's hybrid position type have a role in their offense under new head coach Nathaniel Hackett. Beck has just one carry for three yards and has caught nine of 12 targets for 90 yards and one touchdown in the passing game in his three seasons with the Broncos, but he could have a bigger role under the new coaching staff moving forward. At the very least, he should continue to be a big part of Denver's special teams unit, but he obviously has no fantasy value whatsoever.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
