Hunter Greene Expects To Make Two More Rehab Starts
Hunter Greene (hip), who has been on the injured list with right-hip pain since June 19, is expected to make two more minor-league rehab starts before rejoining the Reds' starting rotation. Greene began his rehab in the Arizona Complex League before joining Triple-A Louisville last Saturday. He's expected to work four innings for Louisville on Thursday. The 24-year-old had a 2.31 ERA in his last four starts before going on the IL, including six scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts on May 26 against the Chicago Cubs. The hard-throwing right-hander will immediately slot back into Cincy's rotation later this month and should be rostered in all fantasy leagues despite missing significant time due to injury this year.

Hunter Greene Lights Up Rockies For Eight Strikeouts Saturday
Hunter Greene earned his third win of the season on Saturday by allowing just three runs on seven hits over six innings against the Rockies in Denver. He gave up all three runs on a pair of home runs, but worked around any other trouble while raising his total strikeouts on the season to 43 in 36 2/3 innings. He improves to 3-2 on the year in his six starts with a 2.70 ERA and 3.46 FIP. The win and the strikeouts were enough to make this a solid Coors Field outing despite the two long balls. He'll look for even better results next time out, when he is scheduled to face the Cardinals at home on Thursday afternoon.

Hunter Greene Tosses Seven Shutout Innings
Hunter Greene has been nearly perfect on the mound over his last few starts. On Sunday, Greene made easy work of the Pittsburgh Pirates lineup. He gave up a double and a walk in the first inning, but escaped without any damage. After that, Greene gave up a hit in the second inning and then retired the next 17 batters he faced. He finished his day with eight strikeouts while allowing two hits over seven innings of work. Greene has now thrown 18.2 innings without allowing a run. He'll take his 0.98 ERA, 0.58 WHIP, with 31 strikeouts into his next start against the Baltimore Orioles. Green is on an elite run right now and needs to be rostered and started in all fantasy formats.

Hunter Greene Strikes Out Seven, Earns Win On Monday
Hunter Greene tossed a gem in a 2-0 win over the San Francisco Giants on Monday. Greene threw 8 2/3 shutout innings while striking out seven and walking one to pick up his first win of the season, evening his record at 1-1 after three starts. Greene came just one out shy of tossing a complete game but was pulled after putting runners on first and second base with two outs. The 25-year-old hurler has been excellent through three starts this season, allowing just three runs while striking out 23 batters over 20 2/3 innings of work. Greene will next take on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.

Hunter Greene Named Opening Day Starter
Hunter Greene has been named the team's Opening Day starter on March 27 against the San Francisco Giants, as expected. It comes as no surprise after Greene made his first All-Star team last year in his third year in the league by going 9-5 with a career-best 2.75 ERA (3.47 FIP), 1.02 WHIP, a career-high 169 strikeouts and 57 walks in 150 1/3 innings over 26 starts for the Reds. The 25-year-old hasn't looked great in spring training, as he's allowed seven earned runs in three starts, but he's also struck out 11 and walked four in eight innings of work. Fantasy managers shouldn't let those spring results dissuade them from taking Greene as a solid No. 3 starter in upcoming drafts. Even though Greene's strikeout rate dropped to 27.7% in 2024, it was still above-average. The next step for him is reaching the 30-start mark and topping 200 K's.
