Kyle Trask To Start Second Preseason Game
1 year agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles told media members that quarterback Kyle Trask will start the team's second preseason game against the New York Jets. The Bucs have yet to name a Week 1 starter at QB between Trask and Baker Mayfield. Bowles is giving the more experienced option (Mayfield) the first start in Friday's preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers; he has 69 starts, 1,386 completions, 102 TDs and 64 interceptions under his belt. Trask has just nine pass attempts to his name in the NFL. Offensive coordinator Dave Canales said coming into training camp that Mayfield had the slight edge because of his command of the offense, but Trask has made things more interesting in the QB competition this summer. Preseason games could end up being the deciding factor in this battle.
