Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich showed flashes of brilliance in his rookie campaign last season. In 10 games, the ex-UCLA Bruin caught 33 passes for 411 yards and two touchdowns. His production also included a pair of 80-yard performances.
Under what many are hoping to be an improved Denver offense under new coach Sean Payton, fantasy managers looked at Dulcich as a potential breakout candidate.
However, there may be competition for the TE1 role in Denver. Will Dulcich be the TE1 for the Broncos heading into the season? What is his fantasy football value? Let's break it down.

Training Camp Depth Chart Breakdown
This week, the Broncos' first depth chart of training camp was released.
The big surprise was ex-Saint Adam Trautman sitting one spot ahead of Dulcich. While the depth chart is deemed unofficial, quotes from Payton are not.
Payton is saying they're going to use three tight ends, dependent on the strengths and weaknesses of each. Trautman and Dulcich are more likely 1A and 1B than one and two.
Strengths of Greg Dulcich and Adam Trautman
Fantasy managers focus on pass-catching tight ends because that's what scores the points. In reality, there's a lot more that goes into playing the position, mainly blocking. We've seen what Dulcich does as a receiver, but he's been vocal about improving his blocking this summer.
“First and second-step hand placement—all that sort of stuff. And that's kind of trying to be a focal point that me and Coach Doyle have been working on and especially with our whole room. But that’s something that I personally want to improve in my game.” - Greg Dulcich
Trautman, according to Payton, is proficient in his blocking and route tree. The coach has trusted the veteran with a majority of tight end snap shares before in New Orleans and appears to be ready to do it again.
Where Should You Draft Greg Dulcich And Adam Trautman For Fantasy Football?
This is a situation that is worth watching. Trautman was drafted by Sean Payton and brought to Denver under his control, so you know he's a fan of the Dayton product. Dulcich, on the other hand, was brought in under former coach Nathaniel Hackett.
Dulcich is still worth a late-round draft pick, but he may be better suited as the second tight end on your roster. Trautman is only worthy of a selection in the deepest of deep leagues.
