Tyler O'Neill Returns For Wednesday's Game
Tyler O'Neill (knee) is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday, starting in left field and batting sixth against Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Jalen Beeks. O'Neill will return after being scratched from Tuesday's lineup with left-knee tightness. The 28-year-old Canadian has had another disappointing year after clubbing a career-high 34 home runs and driving in 80 in 2021. He's played in just 44 games in 2023 due to injuries and is hitting .248/.323/.407 with five home runs, eight doubles, 13 RBI and 19 runs scored in 161 plate appearances. The good news is that he's played better since returning from the injured list on July 20, going 15-for-53 (.283) with three home runs, four doubles, seven RBI, one steal and seven runs scored in 15 games (14 starts). When healthy, O'Neill will be a lineup regular for St. Louis.

Tyler O'Neill To Begin Rehab Assignment On Tuesday
Tyler O'Neill (neck) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. This is an excellent sign for the 29-year-old as he appears to be nearing a return to action. O'Neill has been sidelined since April 24 with neck soreness. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he could be cleared to return this weekend to begin a series against the Angels. Before his injury, O'Neill held a .215/.284/.385 slash line with three doubles, one triple, and two home runs across 18 contests. During this stretch, he generated an elite 17.4 percent barrel rate with a strong .506 xSLG. When he does return to action, he should continue to see an everyday role in right field. Given his power upside, he is worth holding on to in five-outfielder leagues.

Tyler O'Neill, Jordan Westburg "Days Away" From Returning
Tyler O'Neill (neck) and infielder Jordan Westburg (hamstring) are more "days away" than "weeks away" from returning from the injured list. The Orioles are talking about whether either player needs to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the IL. The oft-injured O'Neill is eligible to return this Sunday and should return to a regular role in the Orioles outfield despite starting the season with a .215/.284/.385 slash line with two homers and 10 RBI in 75 plate appearances. Ramon Laureano will return to the bench when O'Neill returns. Westburg can come off the IL as soon as next Wednesday. The 26-year-old was also struggling at the plate with a .217 average, four home runs and six RBI, but he should resume his regular role at third upon his return, especially with Ramon Urias (hamstring) currently injured.

Tyler O'Neill Heading To The IL
Tyler O'Neill (neck) on the 10-day IL retroactive to Apr 24 with neck soreness. O's manager, Brandon Hyde, stated that he's "hopeful" it's a minimum stay for the veteran. O'Neill has been battling his neck issue for a few weeks now, and he'll finally have time to get it sorted. The power-hitting right-hander has had trouble staying healthy over the years, and 2025 has been no different. Baltimore recalled outfielder Dylan Carlson in a corresponding move. Before his trip to the IL, the 29-year-old had been scuffling at the plate, batting .118 over his last 51 at-bats (six hits). It's possible his neck ailment is at least partially to blame.

Tyler O'Neill Out On Thursday With Sore Neck
Tyler O'Neill (neck) is out of Thursday's starting lineup against the hosting Washington Nationals with the same neck soreness that he dealt with last week. Hyde is hoping that O'Neill will be available off the bench on Thursday. Ramon Laureano is drawing the start in right field and is hitting seventh against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore, who he has hit .833 against with three RBI in six career at-bats. The 29-year-old O'Neill missed two games last week with the neck injury, and it could turn into an injured-list situation if it doesn't clear up by the weekend. For now, though, fantasy managers should consider the Canadian outfielder to be day-to-day. O'Neill has gotten off to a poor start in his first year in Baltimore, hitting .215 (14-for-65) with two homers, 10 RBI and 21 K's in 74 trips to the plate. He's gone 1-for-20 with 11 K's in his last five games.
