Despite a missed cut in his most recent start at The Open in England, Collin Morikawa is gaining steam in the betting and DFS markets heading into his fourth career appearance at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. The 26-year-old California-native with two major championships to his name was trending positively a few weeks ago, logging a T-14 finish at the U.S. Open and coming up just short in a three-man playoff at the Rocket Mortgage classic. A combined 5.2 strokes gained putting in those two events was a green flag for Morikawa-backers, as the flat stick is usually the last piece of the puzzle for him to catapult to the top of leaderboards. Unfortunately the Cal-Berkeley alum lost just over four strokes to the field at Royal Liverpool to miss the cut on the number. Regardless, it's well-known that Morikawa is one of the best ball-strikers on tour, and when there are signs of life in his putter, it's usually time to hop on board the train. After a T-5 finish at TPC Southwind in 2022 to go along with two top-26 finishes in the two seasons prior, it may be time for Morikawa to find some hardware in Tennessee at an affordable $9,000 price tag on DraftKings.--Tommy Bell

After a T14 finish at The Masters, Collin Morikawa has now recorded six straight results of T17 or better to start the season. He'll look to build on this elite form at the RBC Heritage, an event he's played five times, never missing a cut while recording two top-10 finishes. To succeed at Harbour Town, players need to be accurate off the tee and precise on approach, and no one on the PGA Tour has been better than Morikawa in these areas. He ranks first in strokes gained from tee to green (gaining 1.999 strokes per round), first on approach (1.1929 per round), and first in driving accuracy (72.94%). He's also in the 95th percentile over the last 12 months in proximity from 150–200 yards, a key range considering 42.5% of all approach shots came from that distance last year. Morikawa is a home run pick this week, and fantasy managers should invest in his $10,900 price tag on DraftKings.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

Collin Morikawa finished tied for 10th at The PLAYERS Championship last month and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Masters Tournament at Augusta National. He has not missed the cut in any of his five starts this season and has three top-10 finishes. Last year, Morikawa finished tied for third at the Masters. In the past 12 months, he ranks in the 93rd percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is particularly noteworthy because over 37% of approach shots at last year's Masters Tournament came from this distance. Given his strong performances, Morikawa could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Collin Morikawa held a 54-hole lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational but ultimately carded a 72 on Sunday, settling for his second runner-up finish of the year. He now shifts his focus to The PLAYERS Championship, an event he has competed in four times, making the cut three times and finishing as high as T13 in 2023. To succeed at TPC Sawgrass, players need to excel from tee to green, with particular emphasis on accuracy off the tee and on approach. Morikawa ranks second on tour in strokes gained from tee to green (1.341 per round), fifth in driving accuracy, and 10th in strokes gained on approach (0.908 per round). He also ranks in the 96th percentile for proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year. He's also in the 94th percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards, which made up 30.0% of approach shots. With a victory feeling imminent, fantasy managers should have no hesitation using Morikawa in their lineups, even at his $10,500 price tag on DraftKings.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

For a tournament with such a knack for producing leaderboards full of top PGA Tour talent, it has been surprising to see Collin Morikawa struggle in most of his appearances. However, all of it can be linked back to his consistent loss of strokes with his putter and short game. In four career starts, the 28-year-old has averaged -0.758 in strokes gained around the green and -0.706 in strokes gained putting. That certainly won't get things done against the game's best players. Given his hot start to the season, there is optimism that this year's tournament will yield better results, and his talent level undoubtedly deserves it. At $11,400 on FanDuel, using Morikawa or not should realistically come down to ownership projections. The higher it is, the more worrisome his clear uncomfortableness around this property becomes less worth the risk.--Todd McGill - RotoBaller
