Josh Jung Going For Thumb Surgery
1 year agoTexas Rangers infielder Josh Jung (thumb) is going to have surgery to stabilize his fractured thumb in the next few days. He is expected to be able to return to the field in six weeks, according to early reports. A return in six weeks would bring Jung back in mid-September for a final tune-up before the Rangers make their playoff push. Jung landed on the injured list earlier in the day on Monday after injuring his thumb while attempting to field a ground ball during Sunday's game. Jung was in the midst of a breakout season in 2023, hitting .275 with 22 homers, 70 runs, and 67 RBI across 108 games.
