Hyun Jin Ryu Leaves Monday's Start Early With Knee Bruise
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu (knee) left his start against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday early with a right knee contusion. Ryu took a comebacker off of his knee during the fourth inning and was replaced following the inning by reliever Jay Jackson. On the play, Ryu was able to run over and cover first to get the final out of the inning following being struck on the knee but he appeared to be in pain after the play. He departed with a final line of four scoreless innings while allowing no hits and one walk and striking out two. Look for the Blue Jays to update his status in the coming days once he undergoes further testing.
